In this game, the player’s raccoon stands in the middle of a dojo at the intersection of several paths on which enemies will attack him. Enemies approach the raccoons from one of these paths and the player must tap them to direct the raccoon to attack and clear them from the screen. However, the raccoon can only reach so far with his staff weapon and so players must wait for the opportunity to attack. Using power stored up by completing combos, players can also launch energy attacks which come in handy when facing enemies with their own energy or missile attacks. To manage multiple enemies at once, players can use two or three-fingered taps to unleash ever more powerful attacks. When compared to the simply smooth single tap mechanics of most of the game though, these multi-fingered attacks are much more difficult to use.
The mix of different enemy types, different attack possibilities, and multiple simultaneous attackers makes this game fast-paced, hectic, and lots of fun. The well animated characters and environments are just the icing on the cake. Two different difficulty levels also make Dojo Madness accessible to all different types of players.
